2019 Color of the Year Revealed

On an annual basis, Sherwin-Williams, which turns 153 years old in 2019, announces its “Color of the Year.” In 2015 it was Coral Reef. In 2016, Alabaster. The following year it was Poised Taupe. And last year it was a blue-green hue called Oceanside.

Recently, Sherwin-Williams announced its “Color of the Year” for 2019, and it certainly will excite many of those who live in the Southwestern United States, especially New Mexico and parts of Arizona. That’s because the color is Cavern Clay.

Sherwin-Williams says the color was “forged by the sun and fired by the desert. It’s ancient – yet fully alive. Bohemian, yet totally refined.”

The company went on to say Cavern Clay brings new life to any living space. It’s right at home with natural furnishings, including exposed floors, wood furniture, leather upholstery and worldly textiles.
